We have been aware for a long time that there are many examples of positive contribution to the Mitcham scene. We have considered diffferent ways of recognising these contributions formally, and we decided that the best way to do this was to award Certificates of Appreciation.

These Certificates will be awarded whenever we see something that we feel deserves a specal mention.

We have awarded our first two Certificates to the Gardeners' Arms Pub, which is based on London Road, Mitcham. 

One Certificate is for the great flower display that the Gardeners' Arms Pub has put on this year. Year on year the pub contributes to the street scene with its flower displays, and this year we have chosen to thank them for doing this.

The other Certificate is for providing Mitcham Society with a meeting space. The previous landlord and current landladies are always welcoming and hospitable, and we are grateful for their support and the community spirit they show in providing our meeting room.
